About Transport for Edinburgh

Transport for Edinburgh (TfE) is the parent company of the municipally owned Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams and holds the City’s shares in these companies.  It is responsible for the delivery and development of an integrated transport network for the Edinburgh City Region.

In 2018 The TfE Group carried over 125 million passengers, with revenue of £175M, returning £7M in dividends to its Local Authority owners and investing some £17M in new fleet and equipment.

Since 2016, TfE developed and secured unanimous support for a 5-year Strategy for Delivery 2017 – 2022, has taken tram advertising ‘in-house’ and launched a cycle hire scheme for The City.

Future TfE projects include support to the development of the tram network, expanding the cycle hire scheme, the Driver Safety Innovation Challenge and other transport integration and co-ordination projects.
